Mumbai: England’s spinner Monty Panesar struck twice to reduce India to 87-3 at lunch on the opening day of the second Test, here today.
Panesar who replaced Tim Bresnan in the side first dismissed set Virender Sehwag and then the prized scalped of Sachin Tendulkar.
The left arm spinner tossed one up to Sachin which turned beautifully and clipped the off-stump of the little master who tried to defend the ball.
Earlier Sehwag tried to flick a flighted Panesar delivery but missed the line and the ball his pads and deflected onto the stumps.
Gautam Gambhir was the first Indian batsman to get out after he was trapped by James Anderson on the second ball of the innings.
With three wickets down, first Test hero Chesteswar Pujara and Virat Kohli guided India to the break.
