Ahmedabad: England off-spinner Graeme Swann has returned home to support his family and spend time with his daughter who is currently unwell, said a statement issued by the ECB.
However Swann will return to India ahead of the first Test in Ahmedabad, commencing November 15, adds the stamen, adding, "This is a personal matter and we would ask for everyone to give Graeme and his family privacy. We will not be making any further comment at this time."
Swann, who is the lead spinner for the visitors, will play a crucial role in the sub-continental conditions and a couple of days ago had said that Indian tweakers will not be a threat to English batsmen on the turning tracks of the sub-continent.
India's wickets are more traditional, more what people are used to, so I would be very surprised if that something like Dubai happens here again," Swann had said, adding that against Pakistan, they had to face someone like Saeed Ajmal who he termed as a top mystery spinner.
“India lacks a bowler like the Pakistani. In Dubai, we were bowled out by a mystery spinner that batsmen could not pick. India are not really blessed with a mystery spinner like that."
