Ranji Trophy: Uthappa, Binny lead Karnataka’s fight back

Vadodara: A brilliant spell of bowling from Stuart Binny and a good innings from Robin Uthappa helped Karnataka make a good comeback against Baroda in the Ranji Trophy opener being played at Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodara.


Baroda in the first innings were going all guns blazing as both Aditya Waghmode and Irfan Pathan were playing very well after completing their century, Binny then dismissed both the batsmen and went on to take a five wicket haul. He finished with the figures of 5-65.


Karnataka then started strongly as KB Pawan and Robin Uthappa put up a partnership of 112 runs. Gagandeep Singh then got Pawan and G Satish quickly. Uthappa was unbeaten at 67 at the end of the day’s play.
