Sydney Sixers will take on Highveld Lions in the finals of the ongoing Champions League Twenty20. Both teams have been in superb form and it should be one hell of a contest.
Sydney Sixers are still unbeaten in the tournament and have looked as the best unit. Lions on the other hand have lost only one match and that was against the Sixers in league stage.
Both teams have some quality players in the ranks; let’s have a look at some of them:
Sydney Sixers:
Michael Lumb: He has been in good form and has been the aggressor at the top of the innings in the absence of Shane Watson. Lumb has played some good innings and has provided some very quick starts to the Sixers. He will be looking to play a big innings in this match.
Moises Henriques: He has been very impressive with both bat and ball. Henriques has already played some good innings down the order and will be looking to repeat that. No boundary is big enough once he starts connecting the ball.
Mitchell Starc: He has been the best bowler of the tournament and is on top of the wicket takers list. Starc is very dangerous with the new ball and has picked early wickets in almost all the matches.
Steve O’Keefe: He was brilliant in the last match with both bat and ball. He is very experienced in this format. In the last match he was promoted to open the innings and he did the job pretty well. With the ball he was very economical.
Lions:
Neil McKenzie: He has a played a pivotal role in Lions reaching the finals, he by far has been their best batsman and has played with immense responsibility. He has been great in the chase and in the last match he showed that he can be explosive in the death overs while setting a target.
Alviro Petersen: He played a descent little innings in the semifinals but hasn’t played any big innings. His team will be hoping that their captain has saved his best for the last. Petersen is a class player and has all the shots in his armory.
Aaron Phangiso: He has been the best spinner in the tournament and has played a massive role in Lions’ success. He has bowler superbly in the middle overs and has always picked wickets.
Dirk Nannes: The Aussie fast bowler has been a bit inconsistent in the tournament and has been on the expensive side. Nannes is a big player and there is pressure on him to deliver.
