Chennai Super Kings will face Yorkshire in a Group B encounter of the ongoing Champions League Twenty20. Both the teams have had a disappointing outing with Chennai winning one out of the three matches they have played, Yorkshire on the other hand hasn’t won a single game. As a result, both the teams are out of the semifinals reckoning and will play for pride.
CSK are clear favorites to win the match, they have a strong unit and played well in their last match to beat the defending champions Mumbai Indians. Yorkshire played well in the qualifiers but have been disappointing in the league stage. Most of their key players are missing and that has hurt them badly.
Let’s have a look at some of the players who can make the difference for their team:
Chennai Super Kings:
Faf du Plessis: He has been the best batsman for Chennai in this tournament. He has looked in great touch and has provided Chennai with quick starts. He looks to dominate the bowlers upfront and has been successful doing that. His team will be hoping that he can finish the tournament with a good innings.
MS Dhoni: He made a quick-fire 30 in the last match and that made the difference in the end. Dhoni is a powerful striker and has looked comfortable on quick South African pitches. He plays the short pitch delivery very well and can clear any boundary with ease. Dhoni will be looking to finish the tournament on a high.
Ben Hilfenhaus: He was brilliant in the last match and it was his four overs that won Chennai the game. He is dangerous with the new ball and can bowl some unplayable out-swingers.
Doug Bollinger: The two Australians have been bowling well for CSK and Bollinger is always an attacking option for Dhoni. He supported Hifenhaus well in the last match and had a catch dropped of his bowling.
Yorkshire:
Phil Jacques: He is the most experienced batsmen in the Yorkshire lineup and a lot depends on this Aussie player. He hasn’t done much in the tournament and that is one of the main reasons of Yorkshire’s debacle. He will be looking to finish the tournament with a good innings.
Andrew Gale: The captain of Yorkshire has not been at his best and has failed to provide his team good starts. He is an experienced customer and will know that he has let his team down. He can be dangerous once he gets going.
Adil Rashid: The English leg-spinner has been expensive in this tournament. He has done well for his team in the past and does possess variety in his bowling. He is very handy with the bat and can play some good innings.
Ryan Sidebottom: The tall left-armer has struggled with injuries and that has reflected in his performance in the tournament. He is a dangerous bowler and can run through an opposition if he gets his rhythm right.
