Vijay Kumar honoured with 'Services Best Sportsman'

New Delhi: London Olympics silver medallist shooter Vijay Kumar was named as the 'Services Best Sportsman' award for 2012 at the Army Headquarters in New Delhi.

The ace pistol shooter was awarded a trophy and Rs 1 lakh by the Navy Chief Admiral DK Joshi, the release added.

"The award is given to the best sportsman from out of all the three defence forces -- Army, Air Force and Navy," said a press release.

The current world No. 3 won three gold medals and one silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games held here before winning the silver medal at the 25 individual 25 metre rapid fire pistol.
