Semifinals qualification is not in our hands anymore: Pollock

Cape Town: With Mumbai Indians' Champions League T20 campaign thrown into disarray after their last match against Yorkshire was washed out,  bowling coach Shaun Pollock feels that their road to semifinals have become very difficult and it is not in their hands any more.

"It's disappointing for us. The Lions have won two games and the way the schedule has been made, they play before us, which means qualification for the semi-final is out of your hands," Pollock said after their abandoned match against Yorkshire.

"That's a bit sad. If they win that game, they'll have already won three and the Sydney Sixers have won three as well. And even if we win our remaining two games, we'll have only two and a half. We had to win this game but you can't control the weather," he added.

Talking about their bowling department, Pollock said it is not true that the team is entirely dependent on the duo of Lasith Malinga and Mitchell Johnson.

"We have got plenty of option in Dwayne Smith, Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha, who have played international cricket. So no, we're not over-dependent on Johnson and Malinga," he said.
