Delhi Daredevils got off to a flying start in the Champions League  T20 against the reigning Indian Premier League champions Kolkata Knight Riders at Johannesburg yesterday. DD batting first put up a clinical all round performance and won the the match by 52 runs.

Knight Riders never looked as if they were up for the chase and were restricted to 108-7,while chasing 160. The match saw many good performance whereas they were few players who failed to live up to the expectations.

Here are few hits and flops of the match:

Delhi Daredevils:

Hits

Unmukt Chand: He was the man who led the Daredevils with the bat. Delhi Daredevils at one point looked like they will not go past 150 runs mark but then it was young Unmukt who played beautifully to help his team to a competitive total. He scored 40 off 27 deliveries including four boundaries and a couple of sixes.

Ross Taylor
: Ross Taylor played a supporting role to Unmukt and scored 36 off 24 deliverie laced with one fours and a couple of sixes.  He started off slow but then took the inititive at the right time.

Irfan Pathan: He opened the bowling for his team and was brilliant with the new ball. He dismissed Gautam Gambhir and Manpinder Bisla in the first over of the innings, KKR could never get back into the match after the twin blows.

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Hits:

Sunil Narine: Narine was one of the chief architect for KKR's IPL victory this season and he continued his good work in the CL T20 as well. Narine was exceptionally brillliant during the death overs and it was due to him that KKR managed to restrict DD to 160, or else a higher total was on the cards for them. He picked up three wickets by giving away just 21 runs.

Flops:

Laxmipathy Balaji: Balaji was the main culprit with ball. Before the fateful 17th over, KKR had the match under control, but all hell broke loose in that over. Balaji bowling his third over gave away 30 runs and that actually helped Daredevils go past the 160 mark. He gave away 61 runs in his four over and took two wickets.

Gautam Gambhir: He has been going through a rough phase in his career and his poor run continued. He was out first ball and it was his wicket that triggered a collapse and KKR could neve get back into the match.
