Champions League T20: Chennai Super Kings vs Sydney Sixers: Players to watch out for...

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) start their Champions League T20 today at the Johannesburg against Big Bash winners Sydney Sixers (SS). CSK, former champion will look to start their campaign on a good note but then it will not be an easy task for them considering the kind of players the opposition team have.

The match will be a test for CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni whose captaincy has come has come under severe criticism. Dhoni will try and prove a point that he has not lost his touch as a captain.

And for Sydney they start off as one of the contenders for the tournament and will look to start on a winning note.

Both the teams have some world class players in their arsenal and their performance in all likelihood will determine the outcome of the match.

Here are few of the players to watch out for in the match:

Chennai Super Kings:

Faf du Plessis: The South African middle-order batsman is coming into the tournament at the back of a very good half century against India. So his team will want him to carry his performance and will pack a punch considering his familiarity with the conditions. He is a very aggressive batsmen and his ability to hit big shots will make him a player to watch out for in the match.

Murali Vijay: Murali Vijay has been going through a great form in the domestic circuit and will be a very important player for CSK in the tournament. Even in the IPL he jumped to a form at the right time and his team would want him to deliver on the expected lines.

Ben Hilfenhaus: The Australian pacer will be a key member for the side in this tournament. The conditions have helped the pacers as was seen yesterday and he will want to make early inroads in the tournament.

R Ashwin: Ashwin is CSK’s main spinner and the team depends on him a lot. He is very important for Chennai as with his control and variation he has proven out to be one of the biggest match winners for the Chennai team.

Sydney Sixers:

Brad Haddin: Haddin, the skipper of the team is known for his aggressive batting upfront. His batting will be a huge strength to the team and will look to lead the team from the front.

Shane Watson: He is one of the best batting exponents when it comes to this format of the game. He was adjudged the man of the series award for his all round performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. He can decimate any bowling attack and is a very good bowler.

Mitchell Starc: He had been brilliant for Australia in the T20 World and willl be spearheading the Sydney attack and has the knack of picking up early wickets. His team would want him to counter CSK batsmen upfront.

Pat Cummins: He has been most impressive in the recent past. Cummins bowls at express pace and has a very good slower ball. He can trouble the batsmen with the pace.He is also quite handy in the death overs.
