Ishant Sharma fit and raring to go again

New Delhi: Pacer Ishant Sharma after missing out of competitive cricket due to an injury lay-off is back in reckoning for a place in the Indian Team after some good performances in the Irani Cup and Duleep Trophy.

Ishant who picked up 4-29 to help North Zone into the semifinals of the Duleep Trophy was seen bowling at full throttle and extracting enough pace and swing on the dead M.A Chidambaram Stadium.

"The wickets are always flat in India and one can't complain. But I am mentally and physically much stronger now,” said Ishant.

The lanky pacer from Delhi who made his last international appearance in January against Australia at Adeliaide said that he holds no regrets for undergoing a surgery which saw him miss the IPL.

"I gave it a lot of thought before going ahead with it (surgery). Missing the IPL was my decision and I don't have any complaints," Ishant said.
Ishant who has taken 133 wickets in 45 Tests for India conceded that that his preparations are one for India comeback and his stint at the NCA has helped him a lot.

“As part of my rehabilitation, I was in the NCA (National Cricket Academy) for three months, training from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. I worked on my body and gained strength. John Dawes (India’s bowling coach) has taught me how to bowl the out-swinger. I have mastered it and it should make a difference.
