Sachin writes to Sibal, calls for making sports part of curriculum

New Delhi: Sachin Tendulkar in his capacity as an MP has chalked a plan to cultivate sporting culture across India.

Sachin entered the house four months back and this is the first initiative that he undertaken. Reports suggest that Tendulkar has submitted a four point proposal to the Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal which is aimed at integrating sports with the education system of India.

Sibal has invited the master-blaster for a discussion where he is expected to give a detailed explanation on his proposal to the ministry.

“We welcome Sachin Tendulkar’s proposal and I have already written to him inviting him for a presentation so that the details can be talked through. Once that is done we will ask both CBSE and NCERT to look into how sports can be made an integral part of the school curriculum”, Sibal was quoted by The Indian Express.

The four-point agenda in Tendulkar's proposal according to media reports are:

Tap into grassroots and nurture young talent

Promote sports at university and college levels

Revamp sporting infrastructure
