IOC recommend IOA to suspend Kalmadi, Verma and Bhanot

New Delhi: The Ethics Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has recommended that the tainted trio of Suresh Kalmadi, Lalit Bhanot and V K Verma be suspended from Indian Olympic Association (IOA) with immediate effect.

The recommendation came after the Commission felt that the trio had violated Point B.5 of the IOC Code of Ethics which states that ““The Olympic parties shall use due care and diligence in fulfilling their mission. They must not act in a manner likely to tarnish the reputation of the Olympic Movement.”

This comes as a huge blow to the trio as it would now prevent them from contesting in the upcoming IOA elections.
