New Delhi: Indian Premier League season five champion Kolkata Knight Riders will face Delhi Daredevils on the opening day of the Champions League Twenty20 to be played in South Africa. The other match on the opening day will be played between Titans and Perth Scorchers on October 13, 2012.
CLT20 will see 14 teams and 29 matches and the final will be played at the Wanderers, Johannesburg on Oct. 28.
Defending champions Mumbai Indians and this year’s IPL finalist Chennai Super Kings are in the same group.
Qualifiers:
Pool 1: Sialkot Stallions (Pakistan), Auckland Aces (New Zealand) and England's domestic T20 winners.
Pool 2: Trinidad and Tobago (West Indies), England's domestic T20 runners-up and Sri Lanka's domestic T20 winner.
Group Stage:
Group A - Kolkata Knight Riders (India), Titans (South Africa), Perth Scorchers (Australia), Delhi Daredevils (India) and Qualifier 1.
Group B - Chennai Super Kings (India), Highveld Lions (South Africa), Sydney Sixers (Australia), Mumbai Indians (India) and Qualifier 2.
