London Olympics: Bhupathi-Bopanna seeded 7th in men’s doubles, Paes-Vardhan unseeded

London: India pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna has been seeded seventh in the men’s doubles category in the upcoming London Olympics.

Bhupathi-Bopanna were involved in a controversy regarding the team selection for the Olympics with the All India Tennis Federation (AITA). Bhupathi was first paired with Laender Paes but he refused to team up with him, later Bopanna also refused to pair up with Paes, in the end AITA was forced to team the two together.

Paes who was left with no choice was teamed with young Vishnu Vardhan and they are unseeded in the tournament. Bryan brothers from The USA are the top seeded pair followed by Michael Llodra and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France.

In men’s singles, Roger Federer will walk in as the number one player followed by Novak Djokovic of Serbia.
