We stood a chance only if we had got Sehwag out early: Rahul Dravid

Jaipur: It’s probably the first game out of the 10 where we played poor cricket, said skipper Rahul Dravid after his team Rajasthan Royals lost to Delhi Daredevils by six wickets at Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Tuesday.

Dravid said that despite getting a good start, he was surprised by his teams approach towards the game. “We got a good start. We should have scored around 180 as we were playing our strongest batting line-up. But we lost wickets. I'm surprised. It's probably the first game out of the 10 where we played poor cricket,” said Dravid, adding that Rahane was terrific again but the way Virender Sehwag batted, it didn’t give them any chance in the game.

“Ajinkya Rahane is playing brilliantly and he is getting us starts. If we had got Viru out early, I thought we stood a chance. But he is in terrific form. Though it hurts, he is good to watch," said Dravid in all praise for Sehwag.

Meanwhile, Sehwag, who smashed 73 runs off 38 balls, said, "I think when we started, we were not favourites. I hope we can continue to be in this sort of form. I think I'm luck y that I scored five fifties in a row."

Pawan Negi, who was the pick of the bowlers for Team Delhi and was rightly adjudged the Man of the Match for taking four wickets and restricting Rajasthan to a meagre total of 136 said, "I enjoyed bowling and I'm feeling good after talking four wickets. I was under pressure. Rajasthan were well placed when I came on. I am happy to have played a role in Delhi’s win. I have learned a lot interacting with players of the squad."
