Srikkanth hopeful of India’s performance in Asia Cup

Chennai: After the dismal performance of India in the last tri-series, the team was capable of bouncing back in the ongoing Asia Cup, feels Selection Committee chairman Krishnamachari Srikkanth.

Srikkanth also reiterated that Cricket is a technical game and movements can happen whenever, but he was sure that the team would bounce back. Srikkanth stated the ongoing four-nation Asia Cup in Bangladesh was very important for the Indian cricket.

Asked if a win against Pakistan in the ongoing series will change the mood of the Indian cricket fans, which are left distraught by the poor show Down Under, Srikkanth replied in affirmative.

India will start their Asia Cup campaign on Tuesday against Sri Lanka and are scheduled to meet Bangladesh on March 16, before playing arch rivals Pakistan on March 18.
