Doulat, Sachin win Gurgaon leg of Audi quattro Cup 2012

Gurgaon: The  duo of Doulat Kuanyshev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan and Sachin Singh won the Gurgaon leg of the Audi quattro Cup 2012 presented by Audi Finance to qualify for the National final. In the qualifying round held at the Classic Golf Resort here on Saturday, Doulat and Sachin combined to score 43 stableford points to emerge as the winners.
The pair ofJaideep Gurwara and Prashant Sagar finished runners-up with 41 points..Despite making a bridesmaid finish, the duo also made it to the National final for being the rrunner-up team. The team of Htwe Hia Han and Manav Sardana ended up third with 40 points. A wild card entry was also picked during the prize presentation where the team of Rohan Kapur and Suresh Iyer emerged as the lucky winners. However they have to await the scores of 13 other teams to secure a National final berth.

Hosted by Audi Gurgaon, the one-day event saw the who is who of Gurgaon trying to earn a coveted place in the final. In the various skills competition held alongside the main event, Astha Mittal won the “Straightest Drive” prize and emerged as the proud winner of the Audi Experience where she will get to use a chauffeur-driven Audi A7 on the weekend. Vikas Bhayana won the ‘Closest to the Pin” award while Vishal Khandelwal emerged as the winner in the “Longest Drive” contest.

The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world bringing together over 85000 golfers from 54 countries. The Indian circuit of Audi quattro Cup will visit 13 other cities making it a 14-leg series and would touch almost 1600 golfers in all.

Audi Hyderabad will host the next leg of the event at the Boulder Hills Golf and Country Club next week.
