Vani & Aditi to clash in Western India Ladies Open

Mumbai: Vani Kapoor and Aditi Ashok, the two amateurs who have beaten the pros at their own game in recent professionals events, return to the Indian Golf Union’s Usha Amateur Tour as they clash in the Western India Ladies Open Amateur from Tuesday. The event will be held from Tuesday to Thursday at the BPGC in Mumbai.



Vani and Aditi, colleagues in the Indian team at the Usha Queen Sirikit Cup earlier this year in Delhi, have both topped professional events in recent weeks. Aditi won an event in the Southern leg of the WGAI Tour and Vani won an event in the Northern leg.

The two will have to contend with Mehar Atwal, who held off Vani Kapoor’s incredible late charge at the Usha Southern India Ladies Amateur Golf.

Tvesa Malik and Gurbani Singh, now second on the Order of Merit, will also be contenders. They were third and fourth in the previous event.

Usha are supporting the four regional events, Southern India, the Northern India, Western and Eastern India and the and the All India Amateur events on the IGU Ladies circuit. Usha also supports Junior golf with tournaments at Delhi, Bangalore and Chandigarh and conduct the Junior Training Programme at the DGC since 2006 .
