Petaling Jaya (Malaysia): Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri finished tied seventh after scoring a four-under 68, while Shubhankar Sharma jumped two places to be joint ninth after posting a 69 in the fourth and final round of the $3 million Maybank Golf Championship here on Sunday.
Lahiri carded six birdies against two bogeys for a 68 that took his 72-hole total to 14-under 274 -- same as Frenchman Mike Lorenzo-Fera, who scored a 69 at the Saujana Golf and Country Club.
Shubhankar finished one shot behind Lahiri after scoring a 69 as he rolled in three consecutive birdies starting from the 16th hole.
He had to recover strong after a bogey on the sixth with two birdies on the seventh and eight. But a double-bogey on the par-four 10th was a big set-back. A birdie on the 12th and the three birdies on the trot pulled him inside the top-10 spot.
"I'm making a lot of birdies which is the best part. I'm dropping a lot of shots but I'm telling myself and backing myself that I can make birdies. Although I was over par today, I was happy to finish under par," the Indian youngster said in an Asian Tour release.
Among other Indians, Rashid Khan (69) and Shiv Kapur (70) finished tied 12th on nine-under 279 total. Gaganjeet Bhullar was a stroke behind at 280 total following an even-par 72.
Chiragh Kumar finished tied 41st as he carded a 71 for a total of four-under 284, while Jyoti Randhawa was tied 59th after a 71 that took his four-day total to even-par 288.
Meanwhile, Paraguayan Fabrizio Zanotti produced a fabulous come-from-behind victory, thanks to a glorious final hole eagle for a closing round of 63.
Starting the final day six shots back of leader Danny Willett of England, the 33-year-old Zanotti won the co-sanctioned tournament by one shot ahead of 2014 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner David Lipsky in a sensational finish.
No fewer than five players, including Lipsky, Willett, Bernd Wiesberger and Alexander Levy, held at least a share of the lead during a frenetic final round before Zanotti broke away with a terrific finish where he birdied the 17th hole to grab the lead for the first time.
He then rolled in a 12-footer for eagle on the par-five last hole following an imperious iron shot approach from 249 yards out that saw his ball land in the middle of the green, roll towards the back before trickling down towards the pin.
Zanotti, whose other triumph on the European Tour was the 2014 BMW International Open, signed off the week on 19-under 269 (70-69-67-63) and earned $500,000.
"I think it was probably the best round of my career, so I'm very happy. It was a really good day, a really good week and I'm really happy. I think it was at the 15th where I thought I might be able to win, when I made birdie there," Zanotti said.
"I thought, maybe I'll have a chance if I make two more birdies, but I made a birdie and an eagle so it was great."
Lipsky, 28, had a chance to force a play-off but his birdie attempt on the 18th from about 15 feet missed the target as he settled for second place with a closing 67, which included four consecutive birdies after the turn.
Wiesberger took the third position following a 66, followed by Levy who carded a 68 to finish three behind the surprise champion.
Masters Tournament winner Willett struggled all day, shooting a disappointing 73 to finish tied fifth with China's Li Haotong, who closed with a 65, to emerge as Asia's top performer.
