Tanuj Taneja reigns supreme at The Golf Foundation FundraiserGurgaon: The Golf Foundation hosted its 3rd Invitational Fundraiser Tournament at the Par-72 Classic Golf & Country Club on Saturday of December 19 with nearly 100 players teeing off to make it a grand success.

Tanuj Taneja captured the Overall Winner trophy by clocking up 40 stableford points while the Gross Stableford winner was Angad Luthra with 30 points. In the 0-14 handicap category, it was Simran Gujral, who took the winner’s trophy with 37 stableford points and Mohit Chaudhary beat two others on countback for the runners up position.

The 15-24 handicap category was a tightly contested event with Arvind Saxena, MD General Motors, beat Ateet Gaur on a countback after each finished with 36 points. The Overall Ladies Winner was Aashna Monga who ended up with 32 stableford points.

On a lovely Saturday afternoon, fifteen of The Golf Foundation beneficiaries teed off with the who’s who of corporate India. The talent on show wowed the participants who could see how all their support is bearing fruit. They could only marvel at the shot making on display from the juniors, all of whom brought their A-game to the greens.

Shubham Jaglan, the double junior world champion played the Par 3 5th hole with every player on the field and was nine-under par for the day with as many as eleven birdies and two bogeys. TGF beneficiary Hitaashee Bakshi recorded her third hole-in-one on the same hole as she was one of the few who could beat Shubham on the day.

Special Olympics Gold Medalist Ranveer Saini also played a tee shot for all the participants on the Par 3 11th hole with each of them competing for a spot prize too after playing his ball.

The evening was lit up with a ton of raffle prizes such as Nikhil & Shantanu designer bandhgala, Ashish S Soni bespoke voucher, Indigo flight tickets, Crowne Plaza, JW Marriott Aerocity, Holiday Inn stay vouchers, Satya Paul pocket squares, Canali ties, Savoy Suites vouchers and many more. The “Helicopter Ball” was also a huge success and helped raise more money for the foundation.

The annual fundraiser has become a must attend event for many a corporate as a way of acknowledging how The Golf Foundation appreciates their contribution to the cause. A cross section of people have been approached and whether it is cash or barter, they have been very generous with a strong belief that TGF is making a difference to the society irrespective of background with a few stories dominating the golf space over the country.
