BILT Open 2015 to carry total prize purse of Rs 1 crore

Shankar Das BILT OpenNew Delhi: Avantha Group Company, Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT), India’s largest paper manufacturer and the flagship company of the US$ 4 bn Avantha Group, and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), ‘the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India’, on Monday announced the schedule for the BILT Open 2015.
The announcement was made by Yogesh Agarwal, Managing Director & CEO, BILT Paper B.V. and Uttam Singh Mundy, Director, PGTI.

The tournament carries a prize purse of Rs. 1 crore and is scheduled from 6th – 9th October, 2015, with the Pro-Am being played on 10th October. The event will be staged at the magnificent Classic Golf & Country Club in Mewat, Haryana, for the first time.

Speaking on the occasion, Yogesh Agarwal, Managing Director & CEO, BILT Paper B.V. said, “We believe that golf has a very bright future in India and the legion of its followers in India is on the increase thanks to the untiring efforts of BILT and the PGTI helmed by Mr. Uttam Singh Mundy. Defending champion Anura Rohana of Sri Lanka and reigning Rolex Rankings champion Shankar Das will lead a strong field at the 10th edition of the BILT Open. The field will also feature former BILT Open champion Shamim Khan. The other big names competing include current Rolex Rankings leader Mukesh Kumar, Om Prakash Chouhan, Harendra Gupta and Digvijay Singh, to name a few.
