Sexual harassment case against Sardar Singh: Complainant UK-woman appears before SIT

An India-origin England Under-19 women's hockey player, who had lodged a complaint against national captain Sardar Singh of sexual harassment at Koomkalan police station on Wednesday appeared before the Special Investigating Team (SIT) set up by the Ludhiana Police Commissioner Parmraj Singh, says a report in the DNA.

According to the report, ADCP Satbir Singh Atwal, who is heading the three-member committee, said that she appeared before the SIT on Thursday and endorsed all allegations which she had written to SHO Koomkalan police station on February 1.

“She repeated that she was engaged to Sardar, he raped her and forced her to abort their child. Later, he refused to marry her. After their engagement, the duo also visited the Gurudwara Bhaini Sahib in Ludhiana,” says the report.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the UK woman, who has accused Indian hockey team skipper Sardar Singh of sexual exploitation, on Wednesday appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) to record her statement. The complainant, who came with her counsel, also submitted photographs and call details between her and Sardar to the SIT. Taking to HT, the woman said she stuck to her statement.
Sardar appeared before the SIT on March 1 and pleaded innocence.
