Laxman slams cricketers trying to earn quick bucks by wrong means

V V S Laxman has slammed the cricketers who are trying to earn some quick money from betting and fixing rather than working on their cricketing skills. He said, “Cricket should not be brought to shame because of some players who are here for money rather than to play for their country.”

Wristy Hyderabadi batsman was quoted by Hindustan Times saying, “It is very important because just for some greedy players, the credibility of the rest of the players should not be affected. I think it is a very important issue and I am sure it will be cleaned up very soon.”

It’s hard to believe that scandals such as spot-fixing and betting had rocked the Indian Cricket so badly which needs to be cleaned immediately. He made it clear that these things hold no place in the nation where Cricket is synonym to religion.

Laxman was quoted by Indian Express saying, "It's very disappointing. Last two weeks, it's been quite distressing and a feeling of anguish was definitely there. The various investigations by police in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, I am sure they will come to a logical conclusion. The cause of this problem is raised.”
