Sachin is a fantastic player and it’s a treat to watch him bat: Pattinson

James Pattinson has bowled his heart out on the Second day of the first Test. His plan of attacking batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar with the bouncers didn’t seem to work out but still he was the only bowler who picked up wickets. Pattinson bowled out the Indian opening pair in his first spell and later on he took the priceless wickets of Chetashwar Pujara who was looking in brilliant touch.

He was quoted by Times of India saying, "My early plan to Sachin was to test him with the bouncers but I changed it. It’s a great learning curve for me. But I changed it in last minute which later proved to be a very big mistake. I hope that I learn from my mistakes very quickly and won’t do it again.”

However Pattinson’s plan didn’t work out really well and Tendulkar charged him for two back to back boundaries that he faced after taking on to the crease.

Pattinson was in all praise for the maestro and added, “Sachin is a fantastic player and it looked like he had a lot of time out there compared to other batters."

As per the reports of Deccan Chronicle, Pattinson was quoted saying, "It's quite a difficult task to bowl to Tendulkar. The way he picks up the ball quite early and places it quite easily is a treat to watch. Hopefully we will be successful tomorrow. His wicket is always a prize scalp," he said.

"The ball was reversing and it helped me a lot and Sehwag was my biggest challenge and I am happy to get him out. I hope tomorrow we will pick up couple of wickets to push them on back-foot and create a window of opportunity for winning this Test," he added.
