Sandeep Singh all equipped to tackle European in the Olympics

Star Indian drag flicker Sandeep Singh has a devised a special strategy to tackle the European playing charging out to stop him from taking penalty corner hits said a report in The Times of India.

"Jokes apart, I have really worked out something special to tackle the Europeans when they charge out to check my penalty-corner flicks or drives. I hope I can beat them, though I can't divulge what exactly I intend doing," Sandeep was quoted by the newspaper.

Sandeep Singh who has instrumental in helping India qualify for the Olympics said that while taking penalty corners his aim remains is to score but then he knows his limitations as a defender and coaches Micheal Nobbs and Dileep Tirkey has improved a lot in improving his defence and underwent training to improve his footwork and speed.

Meanwhile a report in Deccan Herald said that India under 22 Football Team registered a big win over Turkmenistan and remained in contention for a berth in next year’s AFC under 22 Asian Cup final. They won 4-1.

Lalrindika Ralte and Jeje Lalpekhlua scored off penalties in the 36th and 86th minutes while Alwyn George and Romeo Fernandes in the 68th and 76th minutes at the Sultan Qaboos Stadium here.

Italmazov Farhad pulled one back for Turkmenistan in the 59th minute.

India are now on seven points from four matches in Group A and next play hosts Oman on July 3.
