Pegu, Mehta win Delhi South leg of Audi quattro Cup 2013

New Delhi: The duo of JC Pegu and Satish Mehta won the Delhi South leg which formed the 12th event of the Audi quattro Cup 2013 season. However, it was the team of Ashish Sethi and Nitin Agarwal who qualified for the National final to be held in Istanbul. The multi-city event is presented by Audi Finance with Turkish Airlines being the associate partner and Millionnaire Asia being the Official magazine partner with golfingindian.com as the online partner.

Pegu and Mehta combined to score 44 stableford points to pip the pair of Doulat Kuanyshev and Udbhav Narian on a countback. According to the championship rules, since both the teams who had members having played the National final last year, it was the third placed team of Ashish Sethi and Nitin Agarwal who won the National berth. The duo had 43 points to their credit. A wild card entry was also picked during the prize presentation where the team of Tarun Mehrotra and Girish Mehra were the lucky winners. However, they have to await the scores of 12 other teams to secure a National final berth.

Hosted by Audi Delhi South, the one-day event saw Delhi-NCR’s leading corporate czars trying to earn the coveted place in the final. In the various skills competition held alongside the main event, Siddharth Arora won the “Longest Drive” prize on Hole No. 10 and emerged as the proud winner of the Audi Experience where he gets to use a chauffeur-driven Audi A6 on the weekend. Mayur Rastogi won the ‘Straightest Drive” award on Hole No. 6 while Amit Luthra emerged as the winner in the “Closest to Pin” contest on Hole No.5

The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world bringing together over 85000 golfers from 54 countries. The Indian circuit of Audi quattro Cup will visit 12 other cities making it a 13-leg series and would touch almost 1300 golfers in all.

Audi Delhi West will host the next leg at the Jaypee Greens on April 12.
