Neymar dreaming of final against Boca

Rio de Janeiro: Santos striker and rising Brazil star Neymar says he is "dreaming" of a Copa Libertadores final against Argentine club Boca Juniors.

Santos will meet Brazilian rivals Corinthians in the semi-finals after overcoming Argentina's Velez Sarsfield in a penalty shootout Thursday.

Boca will play Universidad de Chile in the other semi-final following a 2-1 aggregate defeat of Fluminense.

Neymar, 20, said he was already thinking about repeating Pele's feat of winning successive finals for Santos against Penarol (1962) and Boca (1963), reported Xinhua.

"Maybe I'm crazy and I always have respect for my opponents, but I can see history repeating itself," Neymar said Friday.

"A final against Boca is what we are playing for. I'm half in fairy land but we want to relive what Pele did."

Neymar said he was already restless about the prospect of playing for a spot in the tournament decider against Corinthians.

"I want the match to be tomorrow," he said. "It's always best not to wait too long so that we can see what lies ahead."

Neymar will travel to Europe Saturday to join Brazil's national team for a series of friendlies against Denmark, the US, Mexico and Argentina. (IANS)
