Namra’s six powers Vibgyor H.S in RFYS football

RFYSPunePhotoPune: Striker Namra Jain had a dream six-goal effort which helped Vibgyor High School, NIBM to a lopsided 8-0 win over Pune Women’s Council English Medium in a Junior Boys’ League match in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Monday.

Namra opened the scoring in the 4th minute then added another in 17th minute to give his team a 2-0 lead at half time. Thereafter, Jai Jain (38th) added to the scoreline, before Namra struck a twice in quick succession (39th and 40th). Jai (45th) made it 6-0 and Namra (51st and 58th) completed the tally.

Namra’s effort was the highest score to be recorded in the Pune leg of the tournament.

Later, RIMS Undri International School earned a walk over as their opponent YMCA Maharashtra English School did not turn up for the encounter.

In a Senior Boys’ encounter St Patrick’s High School & Junior College rode on the brace of Pratik Thorat (22nd & 26th), to down City International 6-0.

Noel Fernandes (15th) opened the scoring before Pratik took centrestage to end the first half 3-0.

Changing ends Rishab Chavan (41st), Siju George (45th), John Challa (49th) added three more to take the scoreline to six.
