Virat Kohli & Co. all set to host Australia in ODI series starting on Sept 17

Virat Kohli newAfter a long Sri Lanka tour, India’s domestic season is about to begin. Virat Kohli led India take on Australia in the season opener in Chennai on September 17, Sunday, before playing a match in Kolkata on September 21, Indore on September 24, Bengaluru on September 28 and Nagpur on October 1. The five-match ODI series will be followed by three T20Is. The first T20 will be played at Ranchi on October 7, Guwahati on October 10 and Hyderabad on October 13.

After the limited overs encounter with Australia, their neighbors, the Kiwis tour India next. The New Zealand will play two practice matches before starting their limited overs campaign in India. The first match will be played at Mumbai on October 22, followed by a game in Pune on October 25 and the final ODI of the series will be played at Kanpur on October 29. The ODIs will be followed by another 3 T20Is. Delhi on November 1, Rajkot on November 4 and Thiruvananthapuram on November 7 will host these 3 T20Is.

Because of the IPL experience, most of the Australian players are familiar with Indian conditions and cherish playing on Indian grounds. It would be fascinating to see how the Aussies then play at their second home against their Teammates of the franchise they represent in the IPL. Both Australia and New Zealand also toured India in 2016-17 season, both of them losing the series. While the Aussies had a Test Series experience last time, New Zealand featured in both Test Series as well as limited overs cricket.

Last season three new Test venues were introduced- Rajkot, Indore and Visakhapatnam. This time too, two more venues are being introduced for International Matches- Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram. While India will look to continue their great run of form, Australia and New Zealand will also come here on purpose and a clear intention to win and make a statement. All this and much more to look forward to when India take on Australia on the 17th of September, Sunday in Chennai.
