Dhoni, Sharma, Anderson, Santner: Players to watch out for in India vs News Zealand fourth ODI

rohit sharma virat kohli odiRanchi: After a mind-boggling performance by the Indian Cricket Team against New Zealand in the second ODI at Mohali, the brigade now moves to Ranchi for the fourth ODI of the series.

Contributions from Virat Kohli and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni took India to a famous win by seven wickets in the second ODI at Mohali. Even though the team was quite happy with the way they played, still there is scope for improvement. Dhoni would have liked contributions from key players like Rohit Sharma in the batting and Amit Mishra in the bowling who have underperformed to their standards.

New Zealand though, would be extremely disappointed by the loss at Mohali and would like to bounce back in the next ODI at Ranchi and also will be keen to take the series to the decider at Vizag on 29th of October.

Here is the list of players to watch out for in the fourth ODI at Ranchi,

India

MS Dhoni: Emboldened by his knock of 80 off 91 in the ODI at Mohali, the Indian captain would be wanting to perform for his fans who only get limited opportunities to see him as Team India plays a very little amount of limited overs match this summer. Also the fact being Ranchi his home ground, Dhoni would definitely want to give some treat for his fans who will be gathered in large numbers. Dhoni is at his best when he his not being pragmatic in his approach and starts expressing himself at the crease. No one can match his surgical precision in choosing the right balls to hit and his rocket speed while running between the wickets.

Rohit Sharma: Rohit Sharma hasn't had the best of 3 ODI with scores of 14, 15 and 13 in the first three ODI'S respectively. Rohit's poor performance has been a bummer for his fans who are eagerly waiting to watch him in his vintage version. Rohit is a kind of player who can win a match single-handedly, which is a quality not many can associate with themselves. His strength is his lazy elegance and he is one batsman who when hits it stays a hit. He likes relishing the challenges thrown at him and one should hope that he will come out of the poor patch that he is going through and will power India to Victory with his masterclass.

New Zealand

Mitchell Santner: New Zealand's only bright light in this tour has been Santner who has 10 wickets in 3 Tests and has been the most economical of the Kiwi bowlers in the ODI'S. He, though, would like to pick up wickets for his captain who has had real faith on him. Ranchi track might just be what he needs to deliver his goods. He would like to take full advantage of the slowness of the wicket at Ranchi and pick up a few wickets and build up his confidence to carry on to the Australian series later in the year.

Corey Anderson: Corey is one batsman who when gets to his strides is the bowler's nightmare. However, his consistency has been his real problem right from the time when he joined the side. He needs to draw in his horns and be more pragmatic in his approach rather than attacking every ball that comes.
