Although India lost to New Zealand in their second ODI, but still some players played beautifully and fought till the end. At one time India were 184/8 in 41 overs when Hardik Pandya and Umesh Yadav raised some hopes in the mind of people and added 49 runs. But the experience of Trent Boult and Tim Southee came through in tough times as they bowled marvellously well to deny India at 236.
Here we bring before you the players who can make the difference in the third ODI:
Kedar Jadhav: Kedar Jadhav is a middle order batsman of Maharashtra and came into light with his 50 of 39 balls in debut IPL match for Delhi Daredevils. There was hardly any chance of his appearance in playing eleven but the viral fever to Suresh Raina opened the gates for him. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands by not only taking three wickets in two matches but also proved his dexterity with the bat and added 66 crucial runs with captain MS Dhoni.
Hardik Pandya: Hardik continued his good form even in the second ODI. In the first ODI, he exploited the good length and was seaming the ball well. He took three important wickets in the first ODI, which was his debut match and even got man-of-the-match. Although he didn't get any wicket in the second ODI, but he bowled well and gave away less runs. He showed his batting ability and fought till the end (36) before he was caught by Mitchell Santner. He can prove out to be a great all rounder for the team.
Jasprit Bumrah: The way he bowled in the first two matches is really fantastic. He is very useful for the team especially in the death overs due to his ability to bowl consecutive Yorkers. He is very consistent with his line and length and just gave 35 runs in his 10 overs spell. He even took three wickets at the time when the massive target was heading its way.
Tim Latham: He is running through a great form and can be a match winner for New Zealand team. He remained unbeaten till the end in the first innings which made him the tenth batsman in the history of ODI cricket and first New Zealander to carry his bat throughout the innings. Even in the second ODI, he (46) continued his pace and laid down a solid 120 runs partnership with the captain Kane Williamson.
Kane Williamson: The skipper came with a totally different impression in the second ODI. He played what we call a Captain's knock of 118 off 128 balls and paved the way for a big total. He was quite aggressive as he hit 14 boundaries and a six. He has finally got his form back and can be dangerous for India in the coming ODI's.
Trent Boult: Boult showed a fantastic piece of bowling attack. The line and length with which he bowled totally restricted the batsmen to score runs. The batsmen were suffering for the boundary against him. He was outstanding, just consumed 25 runs in his 10 overs spell with 2 maidens. He can prove to be very insecure for the Indians.
