BCCI president Lt Anurag Thakur, Rajane, Sharma and others spend evening at 124 Sikh Battalion Territorial Army headquarter

Anurag Thakur along with Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey, spent a pleasant evening at the 124 Sikh Battalion Territorial Army headquarter in New Delhi. Marking the onset of Diwali season, Lt. Thakur and the players interacted and engaged with the officers and jawans.

To make the evening special for the young guns, children of army officers were invited too who played a friendly bowl out session with the players and Lt. Anurag Thakur.

Commenting at the event, Lt. Anurag Thakur said, “It is a matter of great pride and honor to be a part of the Territorial Army. An evening spent with my Army brothers has marked the perfect beginning of the forthcoming festive season. I am sure Ajinkya, Rohit, Kedar and Manish had a great time interacting with the officers & jawans and playing a friendly knock with the children. On behalf of the BCCI, I would like to express gratitude to 124 Sikh Battalion for hosting us and giving us the opportunity to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who always stand strong to safeguard our motherland.”

“It is a great feeling to have the president of the board as the member of the Territorial Army. I would like to thank Lt. Anurag Thakur for brining all of us here and giving us the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with the protectors of our country.” said, Ajinkya Rahane.

Rohit Sharma at the event said, “I thoroughly enjoyed playing a knock with the children. It is great to see the enthusiasm of these kids and I would like to wish them best of luck for all their future endeavors.”

“It feels good to spend time with officers and jawans. I hail these brave hearts who stay away from their families to ensure that all of us have a safe and secure life. I salute the courage of each one of them!” said Kedar Jadhav.

Manish Pandey commented at the event, “I would like to thank Lt. Anurag Thakur and the entire Territorial Army for hosting us.”

The Indian cricket team is in Delhi for the second ODI against New Zealand scheduled for October 20, 2016.
