India vs Zimbabwe: Dream debut for Barinder Sran, says he’s not concentrating on pace but on swinging the ball

cricket wickets 300Harare: After Barinder Sran (4-10 in 4 overs) and Jasprit Bumrah (3-11 in 4 overs) restricted Zimbabwe for a paltry 99 runs in 20 overs, KL Rahul (47 not out) and Mandeep Singh (52 not out) helped India beat by a record 10 wickets to win the second T20 match of the three-match series at Harare Sports Club on Monday.

Barinder Sran, who was Man of the Match, on his T20 debut said, “It was fun, the ball swung. There was no pressure even as the debut came late. I am not concentrating on pace but on swinging the ball.”

Indian skipper MS Dhoni, said, “Bowlers started it all. It’s important to start well. I was a bit worried that it was the third match on the same wicket. Backed by some good fielding, I emphasized that we had to run harder than we did in the last game. In the shorter format, it is very important."

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe skipper Graeme Cremer said, "We started slowly and lost wickets at crucial times. Disappointing, the pitch misbehaved a bit but getting bowled out for 99 is just not good enough. We still excited for the match on Wednesday.”
