Auckland: Riding on a scintillating century (110 not out from 104 balls) from Suresh Raina and a record fifth wicket partnership (196 runs) between Raina and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India beat Zimbabwe by six wicket to make it 6-0 in the league stage matches of the World Cup played at Eden Park, Auckland on Saturday.
The defending champions will now meet neighbours Bangladesh in the quarter-final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 19.
Chasing a target of 288 to win, India were in for a trouble as they lost Rohit Sharma (16), Shikhar Dhawan (4), Ajinkya Rahane (19) and Virat Kohli (38) for 92 in 22.4 overs.
However, the experienced pair of Dhoni and Raina made sure that India finished the league without a loss. It was in the 30th over when Raina released a bit of pressure with successive sixes off left-arm spinner Sean Williams. The over 15 runs for India and thereafter the duo shifted gears. The 150 of the team came in the 34th over and there was no stopping after that.
Dhoni finished off the game with six and India won by six wickets with eight balls to spare.
