BCCI chief in all praise for Captain MS Dhoni

dhoni-captain 161 100New Delhi: Happy with India’s 4-0 win against Australia, BCCI president N. Srinivasan was in all praises for MS Dhoni’s performance and said that BCCI’s faith in the team and the captain has been justified.

In an exclusive interview with NDTV on Monday, Srinivasan said, “The team has given their 100 percent and that’s what matters the most. Losing and winning are the part and parcel of any game and you need to agree that sometimes our team was unlucky against England in that Test series."

"It's good to see India win so comprehensively. We always had confidence in the team. We had faith in the captain and his boys and now our stand has been justified."

"I hope Dhoni and Co. will carry on their winning run on their tour of South-Africa and New-Zealand. Dhoni has been performing as a captain for long. He has won us two World Cups."

He added: "The real test of character will come when India play South Africa and New Zealand later this year."

The BCCI president however has called it unfair to judge Sachin Tendulkar on his recent form and has made it clear that Sachin himself will take a call on his retirement and nobody else.

"He is a kind of player that you see once in century and it would be unfair to judge him on his recent performances. He is different from others."

Tendulkar has not been in the best form of his career as he has played 10 matches in the 2012-13 season at home but has failed to reach the three figure mark.  Tendulkar scored two fifties and has scored merely 367 runs in last 17 innings in this season.

Talking about the IPL and Sri Lankan players, Srinivasan said, "IPL is ready to take on the challenge and there has been no law and order problem in Tamil Nadu and even if situation goes off the hand, we will take care of it."
