gautamKolkata: The captain of Kolkata Knight Riders Gautam Gambhir is now fully hit and is ready to lead his side in the sixth season of IPL. His speedy recovery from jaundice has ensured that he will join his team on Sunday, three days ahead of the IPL-six opener against Delhi Daredevils.

Vijay Dahiya, assistant coach of KKR, has cleared the air on Gambhir's fitness during his media interaction in Kolkata, saying, "His speedy recovery has ensured that he will play the opening match on April 3rd and by tomorrow he will join the squad. His fitness levels looks good as of now and I hope we will win the IPL trophy for second time under his captaincy."

Kolkata will host both opening and closing match of this edition of IPL and it was described as very proud moment for every KKR fan by Vijay Dahiya. He added, "We came up with our best performance in the last season which gave this opportunity to host the first and last match of the tournament and I hope we will continue our prolific run in this season too."

KKR will miss the services of their bowling coach Wasim Akram who is not joining them for this season. Vijay was all praises for the left-arm swing bowler and was quoted saying that, "It's not easy to move on without those who structured the team so well but I think we have found a suitable replacement in Brett Lee who is ready to play his part of player and bowling coach. Lee has loads of experience with him which will be very helpful in shaping the bowlers in the right way."
