Junior Chess: Madhurima in sole lead

New Delhi: Second seed Madhurima Shekhar overcome top seed Nandhidhaa P V to maintain the sole lead with perfect score after fifth round matches of the Under-15 Girls category of ongoing Asian School Chess Championship here at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Monday.  Meanwhile in the Under-15 Open section top seed Fide Master Girish A Koushik failed to produce a decisive result in his favour and signed the peace treaty against his unrated Kyrgyzstan rival Kelsinbek Isakzhanov.  But Girish maintain his sole lead in the section with four and half points.

 

 

In the Under-13 section, top seed Diptayan Ghosh  jumped to sole lead after registering a crucial victory over second seed and national junior champion Aravindh Chithambaram while Aryan Chopra and A Harikrishnan are in joint lead in the Under-11 open section with four and half points. In the fifth round encounter, Aryan beat Matta Besh Vignesh Reddy and Harikrishanan outwitted Delhi lad Aradhya Garg.
