Gurgaon Chess: Himanshu Sharma wins title

chessGurgaon: International Master Himanshu Sharma of Haryana with nine points emerged as champion by drawing his final round game with Himal Gusain of Chandigarh in the 1st Gurgaon All India Open Fide Rating Chess Championship 2012, being held at Rishi Public School Sector 31 Gurgaon.

The second position was bagged by International Master Das Arghyadip with 8 points from West Bangal, who defeated Kantilal Dave of Rajasthan. Third,fourth,fifth,sixth and seventh position went to Kantilal Dave of Rajasthan, Himal Gusain of Chandigarh, Puneet Jaiswal of Delhi, Prince Bajaj of Delhi respectively by scoring 7½ points each.
 
Naresh Sharma - Gen. Secretary of The Haryana Chess Association informed that IM Himanshu Sharma from Haryana who is working with Railways won first prize of Rs. 50,000/-, IM Argyadip Das of West Bengal got Second Prize of Rs. 31,000/- and Third Prize of Rs. 21,000/- goes to Kantilal dave of Rajasthan. Total Rs. 3,00,000/- were distributed as cash prize to different players.
