Nagpur: Amandeep of Railway Fly wt (Common Wealth Championship Bronze Medailst ), was up against Ashish of Delhi in the 1st Elite Men's National Boxing Championship, here on Sunday. The Uttarakhand boxer was taken by surprise with the aggressive approach adopted by Amandeep. The 22 year old services boxer did not waste any time taking the attack to Ashish ; his lightening combinations coupled with his swift ring movement helped him gain a clear advantage. He eased off the pedal in the last two rounds, but did enough to win the bout on a unanimous decision by the judges.
Youth Common wealth Games bronze medal winner Durga Rao (Services) however suffered a defeat in the round of 32(Pre Quater) got TKO I(Injured) In 2nd Round and bowed out of the tournament.
Olympian Divikar Prasad(Jharkhand ) won his pre quater final bout against Sagar of Chandigrah Win on Point 3:0
Asian Championship Silver Medallist Mandeep Jangra (69kg) campaign at the National Boxing Championship came to an end in his pre quarter bout against Manjit Kumar of Orrisa in the score of 2 : 1
