London: Five time world champion from India MC Mary Kom starter her Olympic campaign with a win as the inspirational boxer from India defeated Karolina Michalczuk from Poland 19-14. With the win Lom has moved into the quarterfinals of the event.

Kom started the match a bit defensively as the first round ended with both players on three points.

Michalczuk started on an attacking note in the second round, but Kom showed her experience and landed her punch intelligently. She took the second round 5-4.

The third round started with the Indian leading with one point. Kom was at her best in the final round and showed a good technique with her punches. She won the third round 7-3.

In the fourth round, Kom started in brilliant fashion and her opponent looked exhausted. The round ended with four points to both boxers and Kom won the match 19-14.
