Tare’s knock helps Mumbai beat Kerala by six wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament

cricket gen1 0903getty 630Mumbai: A scintillating half century (71 off 46 balls) by skipper Aditya Tare helped Mumbai beat Kerala by six wickets in the Super League phase of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament at Wankhade Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.

Chasing a daunting target of 161, Mumbai were in dire straits, losing two wickets for just 21 runs when the Mumbai forged a vital 70-run partnership with Siddhesh Lad to keep Mumbai in the fray. He then added 48 runs with Abhishek Nayar before returning to the pavilion. Nayar then helped Mumbai attain the total with five balls to spare.

Earlier, Rohan Prem had 69 off 45 while Sachin Baby made 32 off 26 for Kerala.
In other matches, Uttar Pradesh won while chasing a modest score against Jharkhand, while Gujarat opened their account with a convincing win against Delhi. Baroda beat Vidarbha by six wickets.
