U-18 I-League Final Round: DSK Shivajians fall 2-0 to high-flying Tata Football Academy

DSK U 19Kolkata: DSK Shivajians Football Club lost their first game of the season to the mighty Tata Football Academy on match day 3 of U-18 I-League Final Round.

After an emphatic win over Lonestar Kashmir in the previous round, DSK Shivajians were expected to put up another flawless performance. DSK Shivajians started off the match on a positive note, pressing higher up the pitch and showing their attacking instinct. They did create chances in the opening exchanges and were looking the more confident side.

The whole complexion of the match changed in the 19th Minute as the referee gave away a penalty to TFA for an alleged hand ball inside the 18 yard box. Tata Football Academy Captain Ronald converted from the penalty to give his side 1-0 lead in the game.

DSK Shivajians tried to get back into the game immediately with a string of attacks without any success. TFA scored their second in the 39th Minute. DSK keeper Jedidi wrongly-passed the ball to TFA’s Captain Ronald who laid it off for his teammate Mobashir who made no mistake in finding DSK Shivajians net. The score at half time was 2-0 in favor of Tata Football Academy.

DSK Shivajians tried to change it around with substitutions and tactical changes. They enjoyed more that 70 percent of ball possession in the second half without forcing TFA keeper into a save. The lack of penetration in the final third and some errors in the first 45 minutes cost them the match.

DSK Shivajians final match is against SAI Guwahati on the 4th of February 2016. They still have a chance to go through in to the semi-finals if they win that game.
