Ajay Jayaram taking stride in right direction

Ajay Jayaram, the man who is stunning top players of badminton these days was struggling with injuries in past couple of years. He defeated world number 7 in Korean Masters and became second Indian to reach the final of any masters tournament after Srikanth. After that he also successfully defended his title at Dutch open.

His improvement shows a massive change in his rankings as he moved to 26 from 65 in world rankings this year. His talent comes into highlight in the first edition of Indian Badminton League where he beat the world's top players with ease. Praising his brilliance, people said that he had a glimpse of Prakash Padukone in his young days, But he has to work on his aggressive side. The best part of his game is that he surprises his opponents by suddenly upping the tempo of the game.


His coach Tom John, former British Badminton player, training him on his flat game and aggressiveness, Also he kept motivating Ajay which also helped him to get over his injuries and mental weakness causes by that. Praising him, Tom said, "He is working hard in order to get in Top 20s".

On the other side Ajay had said, "Tom sir keeps me motivated and I could not have gone this far with ease without him."

Besides badminton, he likes to solve CAT problems in his spare time and is also a big fan of Batman and Harry Potter. He also loves to play poker.
