I-League needs to work on various aspects to achieve the desired success

People these days are talking about merger of ISL (Indian Super League) and I-League, which does not seem to be possible in the near future as these two are completely differential tournaments. The governing body should think for improvement of I-League rather than merger of the two leagues. The hope of improvement of our national league (I-League) is still alive and can be done by doing the following things.

1. Improvement in infrastructure:

I-League lacks proper infrastructure. Good fields can produce good matches. Except for some fields, there are so many grounds where maintenance is not up to the mark. As a result, I-League is bereft of quality matches. Also, the stadium facilities are not good enough that can attract the fans. Due to these reasons, the most of I-League matches are held in almost empty stadiums. So, the infrastructure and facilities need to better for bring the fans to the stadium, which can give boost the I-League.

2. Promotion:

Lack of promotion is another reason for its failure. In present day, a tournament's success depends on its promotion at preliminary stage. I-League promotion is not good enough, while ISL promotion is far better and wider than our national league. The governing body should need to think in this direction.

3. Importance to 2nd division league:

Though the 2nd division league never come into the limelight, but it can set up the ground for the success of 1st division league. The teams for 1st division league should qualify based on their performance in the second division league. Direct entry in the I-League should be stopped.

4. Clubs need to keep patience:

New clubs need to keep their patience in order to achieve success. They need to give themselves a minimum time to achieve success. A club needs to have an efficient management. Bengaluru FC is an example. Though achieved success at very early stage, it only came due to their indomitable management quality.
