Shillong: India today made a clean sweep in men's boxing bagging all the seven gold medals in different catagories. L Devendro Singh, Madan Lal, Shiva Thapa, Dheeraj, Manoj Kumar, Mandeep Jangra and Vikas Krishan won gold medals at the NEHU, SAI Special Area Games here on Monday.
In 36 light fly L.Devendro Singh won the Gold, Pakistan’s Mohib Ulla got silver. Bronze medal goes to Sri Lankan Thiwanka Ranasinghe and Sharifi Farhad of Afghanistan
In 37 fly, Gold winner was Madan Lal of India while Silver won by Syed Md Asif of Pakistan. Afghanistan and Sri Lankan boxers bagged bronze.
In 38 Bantam, Gold goes to Indian boxer Shiva Thapa,Silver medal won by Sri Lankan W. Ruwan Thlina. Bronze medal shared by Bangaldesh and Afghanistan’s boxers.
In 39 Light, Indian boxer Dheeraj clicked gold medal, Pakistani Hamid Ali got Silver while Afghanistan and Sri lankan boxers shared bronze medal.
In 40 Welter, Monoj Kumar (India) won gold, Dinidu Sapramadu (SL) got silver and Bhutan & Nepal boxers won Bronze.
In 41Welter, Mandeep Jangra on India won gold, Rahemi Alladad of Afghanistan won silver while bronze was shared by Bangladesh and Sri lankan boxers.
In 42 Middle, Indian boxer Vikas Kishan strikes gold, Pakistani boxer Ahmad Tanveer bagged silver while Afghanistan and Bhutan’s boxer shared bronze medal.
