RCB beat MI by 14 runs to register third win

TImTim Southee, Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Siraj all picked up 2 wickets each in the 31st match of the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League and helped RCB beat Mumbai Indians by 14 runs at their home ground in Bengaluru. For the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya picked up 3 wickets as well as scored a half century for MI but all in vain as a determined RCB bowling attack restricted the MI to 153 runs.

Prior to this, RCB batted first to put on a total of 167 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Manan Vohra (45), Brendon McCullum (37), Virat Kohli (32) and Colin de Grandhomme (23*) came to the party for RCB.  For the MI, apart from Hardik Pandya, Mayank Markande and Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with a wicket each. In response MI lost 7 wickets and fell short by 14 runs.

This was Bengaluru’s third win in 8 games while the sixth defeat for MI in as many matches.
