dhonileads1The day when the series against Bangladesh in (2004-2005) included a new face in the team India, is the day when the qualities of once in a blue moon kind of leader was born. Yes, you guessed it right, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MSD) - the player who is the reason behind the positive vibe and the energy into the squad of Men in Blue.
It is a well known fact now that MSD had started his career with a tour to Bangladesh, all thanks to Neeraj Pandey, the man behind the successful biopic on the ‘Mahendra Singh Dhoni –The Untold Story’ and his later life. He didn’t play well in the first two matches, which was a huge pressure for a newcomer, but what if the newcomer is MSD, who is the master of all the clocks? There are some qualities which make Pan Singh Dhoni’s son Mahendra Singh Dhoni the ‘Mahi’ of India.

Intense ability to handle the pressure
Remember the day of Champions Trophy 2013 final match in Birmingham, England against the hosts, he was on the back of the wickets, as he always uses to, looking so calm and cool that affected the players of the team and the country as well. The results turned the face for the deservers as India became the champion (Champion of the champions) by winning the Champions Trophy in 2013 without even losing the single match in the series. That day was an excellent example where he showcased his talent.
 Consistency in snatching the win
Consistency in snatching the win
The perfect example of giving a flicker on this subject about MSD is the Celcon Cup final 2013. It’s Eranga versus Dhoni, the last over just after the bludgeoning performance of Ishant Sharma. Dhoni released the pressure again by making the last over –the breath taker of the whole series, its miss, six, four, and six! He has been a consistent performer that made his routine to snatch the match in the last catch!
 The observer without a degree
The observer without a degree
He can judge the situations and make the decisions without even saying a single word; he is a genuine example of eligibility and not the qualification, which the whole system should understand. He is a spectator who observes the whole situation so keenly and gets the dot point first.

The blame taker

22 Jan 2013, “It’s my wicket which turned the point of the match”
12 Oct 2015, “My job of a finisher is a gamble and I have to take the blame when it fails. When you bat down the order you have to take the blame. When you have finished a lot many games, people remember more about the games you have not finished”

20 Jan 2016, "It was my wicket, which turns it all because that is my role in the team to make sure that we finish off the game from that position. We lost quite a few wickets there, but mainly it was my wicket, according to the role and responsibility in the side.
These are the statements which make Mahendra Singh Dhoni a worthy and praise-able personality throughout the life of the Indian cricket.

The mature promoter

All the trophies which he has won for the country are always lifted by either the seniors or the juniors because he is a mature promoter.

From ICC T20 World Cup 2007 to the last series win, he always promoted his players. He gave us Ashwin, Jadeja and Raina as all-rounders, Rohit and Dhawan as an opening duo and Virat Kohli as a pillar of the team. His decisions as a mature captain -- giving the last over of the T20 world cup to Joginder Sharma, taking Yuvi in 2011 World Cup, dropping Ashwin and forcing Jadeja into the team against Australia,  including Sreesanth in final of 2007 T20 is well known.

Just because of…

The struggle he faced in his life, he developed all the qualities as a winner over the leader, it’s not that only he faced the tough situations, but he build up the qualities by tackling them all and prevailing them into the game and the life.
