Indian wrestlers win 16 medals at 2015 Junior Asian Wrestling ChampionshipNew Delhi: Indian wrestling team put on a stunning show winning 16 medals at the 2015 Junior Asian Free Style, Greeco Roman Style and Female Wrestling Championship held at Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar from 9-12 July 2015. With this performance, the Indian Junior Free Style wrestling team has won the Champion Trophy 68 points while the Greeco Roman team was runner up with 59 points.

 

In the men’s Free Style category, our wrestlers have won total eight medals including one gold, two silver and five bronze medals while in Greeco Roman Style we concluded by winning four medals including two gold, one silver and one bronze medal. The Women’s team has also performed well winning four medals including one silver and three bronze.

 

Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President Wrestling Federation of India said “I congratulate all the medal winners for their performance in the Junior Wrestling Championship and also appreciate the contribution of the support staff. I think this is just a beginning for us, we are focusing on getting more and more talent from the grassroots so that we can get future stars for the country”.
