Madappa starts favourite at Usha Punjab Juniors golf

golfChandigarh: Viraj Madappa, who recently won the Northern Indian juniors has a good opportunity to build on that and catch up with the leaders as tees up at the Usha IGU Punjab Junior golf championships on Tuesday.


Viraj is currently third on the Order of Merit in the Category A-B, the top two, Aman Raj and Manu Gandas are away playing in Korea this week. Also away is Shubhankar Sharma.


Madappa plays at the Tollygunge Club in Kolkata and start as one of the favourites in the event.


In Category B, Piyush Sangwan will have a chance to catch up Prakhar Asawa who is also in Korea. Sangwan plays at the DLF Golf and Country Club.


A total of 72 players are competing in the tournament being held at the Shivalik Golf Course,  Chandi Mandir.
