IPL is struggling to get acceptance in England and it’s mainly because of jealousy: Pietersen

Kevin Pitersen who is playing for Delhi Daredevils in IPL-5 said that IPL is struggling to get acceptance back in England, reports The Times of India.

The explosive right-hander said that he has had an amazing time with the league right from the time he joined it in the second edition of IPL. He said that it makes him sad that the British media is against the Indian league and there is a lot of negativity surrounding the league. He said that jealousy is one of the major reasons of this.

Pietersen is the only big England player who is playing in IPL and he believes that his experience in playing in the league will help his team when the England team tours India later in the year.


Meanwhile, the Kings XI Punjab who is still to get a victory against their name is confident of pulling the result in their favour reports The Times of India.

Punjab will face Pune Warriors in their home ground at Mohali and are confident of securing two points. But, it won’t be that easy for them as the Sourav Ganguly’s team is looking in great form and most of the players are performing for them.

Adam Gilchrist the captain of KXIP has some problems going into the match as his two key Indian players; Paul Valthaty and Praveen Kumar are struggling in the tournament.

Gilchrist on his teams’ performance said that the tournament is still in its early days and his team can turn the fortunes their way. Gilchrist believes that his team just need some luck going their way and things can change for his side in a matter of two wins.


Owais Shah who scored a terrific 76 in Rajasthan’s chase against Mumbai Indians said that he made a mistake by not playing out Malinga’s over as he is a dangerous bowler.

Shah believes that he didn’t have to play a shot against the classy fast bowler from Sri Lanka as he could have attacked other bowlers. He said that he made a mistake by trying to hit Malinga and he won’t repeat his mistake, reports The Indian Express.

Rajasthan came very close to chasing the stiff total set by the Mumbai team and if Shah would have played till the end, the result could have been a lot different.
